Maikoh

Maikoh is a 7 y/o quarter horse gelding that is about as solid as they come! He’s been one of the favorites for anyone to ride or use. I’ve put riders of all levels on him including beginners and confident kids. He is a safe gelding that has handled every situation I’ve put him in gracefully. He is a more “whoa-than-go” style gelding but always willing to step out and go to work when asked. He’s one of my main mounts when it comes to starting colts; from flagging, to roping feet, or snubbing one off to him. He’s been flawless in helping me prep those babies. In the roping pen he doesn’t mind heading those soggy soured-up steers and pulls to the horn across the arena. He can carry himself through a barrel pattern and has started to pack the speed if you ask for it. Although if you’re looking for nice leisurely day down the trail, he’s your go-to! He’s been a repeat mount for the “Baker Spain Stampede”, (a 6-day chuckle wagon race and cowboy gathering). From enjoying the concert horseback next to the stage, to holding the “line” for the pasture bronc riding or pasture roping, to the starting guns and firecrackers of the chuckwagon races; he stood like gentleman the entire time. During the downtime we navigated the rough terrain of the Ozark foothills through rocky trails and deep creeks that were shared with the ATV’s. At night he was picketed in a high line next to the main road that had high volumes of wagon and vehicle traffic. Through the entire chaos of the festival, he handled himself perfectly. To bundle him all up, Maikoh has been an all-around citizen that we value for his reliability, confidence, and his forgiving attitude even with under skilled riders.
